Who We Are
We are a Columbia, Missouri, locally operated family-owned junk removal company. We remove everything you need us to, such as old furniture and appliances, garage items, and renovation debris. We do all the loading, lifting, labor, and disposal of your unwanted junk with a smile on our face.
The owners of The Junk Pirates in Columbia are long term residents who have continuously owned and operated a variety of businesses within our community. They launched the Columbia location of The Junk Pirates in early 2021.
We are called The Junk Pirates because of an eye accident the founder of The Junk Pirates had many years ago requiring him to wear a patch until his eye healed. His friends started calling him a pirate, and the name stuck

No, we are an independent family business. We do not have bosses in another country. We are our own bosses serving you right here in Columbia. We know this area, and we know you as our neighbors.
What We Do
We remove any junk you need us to remove.
We dispose of the items you identify to be removed in an eco-friendly matter. Anything and everything that can be legally recycled or donated is.
We dump at the City of Columbia Bioreactor Landfill
We do all the lifting, including anything that requires over two people to lift. We find it odd that a good deal of junk removal companies don’t remove bulky items. We have a forklift that does the heavy lifting for any bulky items you may have. And you don’t have to do anything.
We remove any items you want us to, including hazardous materials (again, something most junk removal companies won’t touch). Here are examples of junk we take.
There is nothing you need to do. Just show us the items you want to be removed, and we will do everything else. We will also clean and sweep the area before we leave.
No, we remove items from wherever they are located in your home or business. But we love curbside pick ups, and if you can place your items curbside, it will reduce the cost of our service to you.
Pirates love full house cleanouts, which are frequent requests for evictions and estate sales. We will remove every single item and leave the premises clean.
When you consider renting a dumpster, it is generally because you are involved in a renovation or extensive repair. The thought process is that you will generate large amounts of debris that will pile up quickly.
There are many problems with renting a dumpster. The most dangerous problem is that when you rent a dumpster, you are the one responsible for getting the heavy items out of the home and into the dumpster. We believe injuring yourself or causing property damage is not worth it.
We solve the problem of considerable amounts of debris accumulating quickly by making scheduled pickups during the process. That way, you don’t have to worry about doing anything yourself except focusing on your renovation.

We make strong efforts to recycle as much as possible. Items we recycle including reusable/renewable items, including paper, cardboard, metal, plastic, electronics, and anything else recycling center will accept. As long-time residents of Columbia, Missouri, we are proud of our track record keeping recyclables out of our local landfills.
Yes, we remove any electronics (e-waste) you may have, including computers and televisions, and dispose of them in the most eco-friendly way possible.

Yes, we will remove your old piano. As much as it pains our Pirate hearts, the majority of pianos we take away are not able to be re-homed, and they do end up at the landfill and/or scrap yard.
Yes, we remove bathtubs, toilets, sinks, fixtures, tiles, plumbing, and anything else you may need removed. And remember, you don’t have to drag any items out in front of your property. We remove your items where they sit. Easy and convenient!

Yes, we are experts in working with large properties, such as apartment complexes.

Those organizations typically donate the items to needy local residents, or sell the items through their storefronts and use the proceeds for funding their charitable work.

Whether you’re from Columbia, Jefferson City, Moberly, Fulton, Boonville or any of the communities in Mid Missouri, The Junk Pirates will travel to your home or place of business and carry off your unwanted items.
You need not be at home when we arrive as long as we have access to where the junk is located. We will call to confirm and coordinate everything with you beforehand.

We offer complimentary, no-obligation estimates before we charge anything. Our pricing differs from most junk removal companies in that we provide 100% transparency with our upfront pricing and free estimates. Before you pay us a dime, you’ll know exactly how much the charge is, and you don’t pay until the junk is loaded and ready to go.
Our volume-based pricing ensures you get the most junk removed for the lowest price. You simply pay for space the junk occupies in our truck and/or trailers. So, depending on the amount of junk you need to be removed, we can determine what price point you likely will fall into.
Our pricing differs from most junk removal companies that generally charge by the truckload AND by the hour. We do not charge for labor, having to climb stairs, lift more cumbersome items, or anything else that may be required. Our full-service junk removal service price also includes any disposal fees.

Yes, we accept Venmo. But we do not currently accept PayPal. We also accept most credit cards, debit cards, cash, and checks.

We are allowed to dispose of dried out paint, nearly empty cans, and small containers of certain water-based paints. We cannot dispose of 5 gallon buckets of paint if the paint is still in liquid form.
